First day of office work ...

First, I'm 3 minutes late, as I had trouble finding the exact location of the company. Should I say a 'Plant' instead ? My department office was situated in the factory itself, and its' temperature was more of the AOA room back in ITE. In fact, the whole place resembled an ITE itself. Only, the canteen was situated on the 4th level.

There's a gym, but only perm staff could access for it require their ID card. Mine's a temporary staff ID card, so it was one without 'code'.

Anyway, I spend the whole day of work doing stamping of documents, sorting and filing. Photocopying and Scanning as well, mainly paperwork. The only data entry I did today, was to update the company stuff into their system, and their customer documents stuff.

For I still had no access to my account yet, I had to work using the public PC station today. And I certainly hoped that the phone on my desk will not ring at all ... since I had no idea how to answer their call, as it was one that comes with extention ... I think ... mine's is 506 ??? cannot remember exactly ...

Ate lunch with Chris Kuang, another temp staff, a male - who's hired for the sake of taking over Merli, who's pregnant and going on maternity leave by October. Both of us were currently trained by Merli, and Alice - 'OJT' kind of ... so far so good, I think I will treat the experience as if I'm taking up a temporary course.

Their company make use of the program 'Agile' and 'Oracle' - both of which, I had no idea of how to operate them, and that's exactly what I would have to learn from scratch. Anyway, I certainly hoped they (Merli & Alice) will not choose to go on leave at the same time, for both Chris and myself were still learning, so ...

Right, and for now - there's no OT yet ... but Chuah, our supervisor said that if the workload is heavy, then we might need to do some OT. Whatever it is, I have decided that if it's on the day I'm preoccupied with things to do after work, then I'll finished up the urgent documents if they came in - during the morning. As for the 'not so urgent' documents, I might put them on hold - until the next day, and stayed back for OT on the following day, instead of the day itself - if I did have something on.

I think that's pretty much all for now ... I'll update again, when I finally get a chance to use their programmes. Then you can see how I complain or whine, or boasted about my ability, understanding of their programmes.
